The onset of cold weather a couple of weeks ago had our favourite winter warmers run out the door. We’ve just re-cut the last of these fabrics into these two popular styles.
The Apreece tunic in wool merino has an easy elegance and can be worn as a tunic over skinny Linear pants as shown here, or as a dress with boots. The interest and pleated detail on the back of this dress are just fabulous- although much more appreciated by those behind you!
The warmth of the fabulous Italian wool Honeycomb knit in this soft and almost brushed-cream oversized sweater is astonishing. This piece looks amazing with a skinny pant or else belted for a dressier occasion. We were only able to squeeze 1 small and 2 mediums out of our fabric, so don’t wait around to purchase this sweater as they will be gone!

I’m loving my Tracey Neuls Conform Boots.
In fact, I have to admit I have now worn them 4 days in a row! I wore them to work with my Mantis Dress and grey merino leggings, over the weekend I had my jeans tucked into them, for dinner out I wore my boots with the skinny Linear pants and I now have my merino Echelon dress with grey tights on and my boots!
These boots just feel right! They have the perfect amount of scrunch in the leg and a heel that makes them dressy or casual and then they have the perfect amount of intrigue with the leather wrapping around the black wooden heel and finishing with a petite button.

The comfort factor comes from the incredibly soft and supple leather upper, that has been moulded not seamed into shape. This softness means you can just pull them on like a sock… no zips.. no struggling they just slide on without being too baggy either. This softeness also adds to my comfort and means I haven’t had those sore ankles when I first wore them. The heel is the perfect height so I look like I am wearing heels yet my feet do not complain… and in retail and on my feet all day, this is the sign of a fabulous, well balanced shoe.
I know people question the price of boots but when you get a good pair… nothing else in your wardrobe will work like them. The longevity you will get from a great pair of boots should be 3-5 years and this will offset the investment. My last pair of Tracey’s boots I got the winter before we opened our Newmarket boutique. That was 5 years ago and they still look great because Tracey’s shoes are about style not fashion trend. When you wear them 2-3 times a week for 5 years… well, it works out my last pair cost me approx $2 a wear! So they are really worth it.

The weather is freezing and what better way to stay warm but to wrap up in an amazing winter coat.
Now a winter coat is a big investment and something that should live for years and years in your wardrobe. It should have enough individuality to classify it as “stylish” and so it will become a loved member of your wardrobe, but still have timeless proportions and lines so it doesn’t date with fashion.
The latest reviews of next winter’s fashion runway shows are all talking about “The Beige Coat” refer to Dries Van Noten Fall 2009 fashion show to see the talked about version of this latest Coat that he opened and closed his show with.
Now a black coat has long been an essential in your wardrobe, but sometimes we need to not wear “all black” hence the addition of “The Beige Coat” as a new classic staple for our wardrobes. This beige colour works amazingly with Black, Navy and Dk Chocolate Brown and our Essential Charcoals. We love this new colour, but as a coat is such a timeless investment we also do run our Insider Coat in a Black Italian wool cashmere and a Dark Steel Grey.
The Fabrication: A fabulous Italian Virgin wool and Cashmere blend is unbeatable for a wintercoat especially in New Zealand where our winters… well some in the past …. haven’t been as cold as those in Europe… the cashmere is a super fine and soft wool fibre which enables a lightness, fineness and yet warmth, the Virgin wool content gives it strength and durability and this season we have 2 amazing Italian fabrics which also have the added luxury of angora in them to add that delightful drape to the fabric and an unbelievable soft handle.

Well the cold has certainly arrived around the country! These freezing days and nights really make us want to dress cosily warm yet still be smart and have a great presence created by our clothes.
Our new Ridged Merino Tops and four coloured Quadrant Tops that can be teamed with our favourite winter Peg Pant and topped off with a merino Collared Torchon Wrap give great comfort and warmth to your winter wardrobe. We’ve also just put our second cut of Collared Torchon wraps into the stores as the first ones sold out in days.
For a cosy weekend opt for a Red Engine Boyfriend Jean. These jeans are made in top quality European denims and then submitted to the softest washes so the garment is amazingly soft and wearable. Layer your footless tights underneath to give it a funky edge that adds warmth without bulk, and the Interval Top (which has a full cotton layer underneath) gives the relaxed feel while still being a smart merino top that will live in your wardrobe and warm you up for many years to come. Boyfriend jackets
Our fabulous boyfriend jackets have finally arrived in store. We have people on waiting lists for them since publishing our lookbook earlier this season, and now they are here.
Grey Italian wool or Black fine worsted Italian wool from one of my favourite mills in Italy. They give you the current Blazer look in a shape that you will keep in your wardrobe, team it with a Peg pant – pleated front pant, or roll up your stooge or notch pants – classic straight leg pants, to give you the latest look.
These jackets will also smarten up your Jeans and merino tops for your night out or weekend shopping. The jackets are light like a jacket but long like a coat so will give you the best of both worlds.
