Springs needs, wants + must haves
Spring is starting to makes its presence felt, and the daffodils and tulips are out! So it’s time to air out those items that have remained in your summer wardrobe and collect a few new springs essentials.
First, treat yourself to a steaming cup of lemon and ginger tea: boiling water poured over a few shaves of fresh ginger root and a good squeeze of lemon… and a dash of golden liquid honey for those who desire it.
Feeling refreshed and energised, open your wardrobe.
- Now, if you were asked to a friendly BBQ tomorrow night, what would you wear? You need that great knit summer dress that works with leggings and flats or boots in case of a chill in the evening air.

Standard Issue delivers some gorgeous Summer knitwear
Standard issue do not normally do a summer collection….but this summer is something special…
We have gorgeous chunky knitwear in belted cardigans and vest shapes with half hoods and cowl necks. the colours are bright reds and subtle neutrals and silver greys. They all just add that wonderful texture to a summer outfit.
Also a great easy to wear stripe dress in bright stripes which would look superb for days with ballet slippers when we get that sunshine or boots for now. These dresses are now only available in our Newmarket store.

I must give a huge thanks to our amazing Wellington Builder Steven Kilduff from Kilduff building who has worked tirelessly and outside of retail working hours on our new shop fit, and the great metal workers at design steel who have worked with me to produce our steel wardrobes and wall coverings. They turned my vision into reality with the fabulous 24 cupboard steel unit (with even aged looking hinges and individually made pin closures) that sits behind our counter.

Summer dresses
Summer dresses continue to be favourites with our customers this season.
For those who enjoyed the knit Portfolio dress last season, here is our new Covetted Dress. It is an easy knit dress, that has enough formality to be worn in the evening, is soft enough and skims without clinging to your figure, the exposed back zip makes it an edgy dress and the knit fabrication makes it an easy to wear day dress.
Our Ponsonby Manager wore this dress last week, as it worked perfectely for her day at work with a cardigan ontop and boots, it was comfortable for flying to Wellington and then by changing into her heels she wore it for our evening Wellington opening.

I am loving the Skinny Nelson Cape, After grabbing one while running out the door to Europe last month, it has been a firm favourite in my wardrobe. I snuggled into it on the long-haul flights, and I took it everywhere as it is simple, stylish and makes an outfit feel finished. I feel this piece is going to be my summer version of the merino Venetian Cowl I have thrashed from my Winter collection.
