This week I have asked our Newmarket taylor team to give me their favourite outfits from our winter collection…and why they work.

SHONA – our manager:

The pendulum tunic black with satin neckband
Linear Pant in Cigar or slim Divided Liman pant in Cigar
Metalicus Top in cream tones or warm autumn tones of fog or cream
Cable Moss Wrap in Mink

Shona has found this outfit works wonders on most figure shapes, the satin neck gives a flash of highlight which makes people’s faces become the focus, the shape of the pendulum tunic is slim and shapely without being tight.  It is a great alternative to Black, but this outfit also works all in Black.

NIKKI – Our fabulous New stylist and manager in training in Newmarket…with an accent you just have to keep listening too!

Nikki’s customers have been enjoying her styling a colourful Captivate top over a Camber Tunic which gives a great assymetrical edge with the slimming skinny leg Divided Liman pant in Black or Warm cigar tones. She is loving the chunky metal Chain Belt as this piece is not only a belt but as the links are detachable… it is multifunctional so you can have a necklace or make your own bracelet.

This style mixes a soft feminine element with a hard suited edge so to finish the look add an edgey Petite Conclusion Blazer and chunky gunmetal belt. Throw on a pair of killer heels and you are good to go.

BRIGID … our fabulous designer in training who has graduated with a fashion degree at the end of last year…

Metalicus grey top layered under the  gorgeous Nikau green Evangile tunic tied to the front. She loves this piece for its soft and easy nature, it is relaxed yet smart and looks fabulous with a skinny Linear Pant. Brigid has added the Fountain blue Enfold Wrap piece as this merino layer gives a vest like shape but again is relaxed in it’s shape and you can tie the fullness to the front or back as you need. This piece also looks great worn with the pants and a simple tee shirt shape or merino top underneath.. so it has huge versatility in your wardrobe.

At this time of year this weather is really unpredictable…. we get gorgeous sunny middays followed by a ice cold wind,  the thermometer drops in the evenings and the mornings are stark reminders that summer is not here any more … We never know what each day is going to hold for us.

How to dress for this is a constant wardrobe challenge, as we do not have the luxury of changing our outfit as regularly. Our best suggestion is to layer a few essentials underneath… a great piece of easy to wear knitwear, and of course take a coat or jacket to wear morning and night.

This season I am loving the Kourbela sleeveless Angora Confi Cardi.. it has a vest shape with one button in the front, and a big scarf collar…My arms are free…. and uncovered for the middle of the day, I can wrap the scarf collar around my neck in the mornings or evenings or leave it softly draped to the front or falling behind me over the warmer middle of the day. It is also long enough to cover my bottom when I am wearing my slim pants… and Red Engine Black Cayenne Jeans.

I have to admit I have been wearing this cardigan a whole lot… it looks great with slim Jeans and flat boots in the weekend and I leave my back hanging down like the first picture, then with my Peg Shaped pants and big heels for those business days with the back buttoned up like the right hand picture or with my essential legging style pant, the Linear Pant. I have taken to layering a white or coloured long line Camber tunic under a dark Suture Scoop… then this great Confi cardi…. of course mine is black as this takes me morning to night so easily. You do not need a big wardrobe to look great. .. just a few key pieces that allow you to create many different looks.

For those who feel this Confi cardi piece is a little too complicated.. the great Angora Cardi with 2 big buttons and a gorgeous gathered neckline is a simpler version that is also very stylish and great to wear at this time of year.
