Getting Ready… NZ FASHION FESTIVAL

NZ Fashion Festival has started

This week Our Customers and the Public are invited to see the designer Fashion Shows that you can’t see during the “trade Only” NZ Fashion Week.

The best part about fashion festival is that the clothes will be from our New Enclose collection and will be available in-store and Online for you to purchase after seeing them on the catwalk.

Taylor is showing in Collections 3 – The ViVa Fashion Night 8.30pm at Shed 10 on Queens Wharf. Tickets are $60-$40 from Iticket.co.nz

The Loft Dress

Easy enough to wear to work and Clever enough to wear out – The essential shift dress with that special something is our fabulous Loft Dress.

Once you try this dress on you will have to own it – an alternative to your classic shift or pencil skirt. Our Loft Dress is a wonderful fit-and-flare style which embraces a more feminine hourglass shape. We love that side drape detail that is created with clever cutting so it falls and flows and allows you to move with revealing splits. The contrast colour inside hem, adds to the intrigue when you move. Pictured in our Italian Wool Birdseye weave – a mix of black and cream – it gives a striking effect when teamed with Black accessories.

It also comes in a classic Black self textured wool… you can add a crisp white mans-style shirt underneath for a corporate look, or take it into an evening dress – layer your neckline with long chain necklaces and add the essential Black Generale Trench, Textured or a contrast colour tights and skyscraper wedge heels to finish your look.

We hope that the release of our new collection has got you all very much excited for dressing up for winter… but for many of us it is still so hot! I know for us up in Auckland it has been. For some of you it will be getting cooler… so here are some picks from our new collection that all of you will be able to wear now and you can carry through for winter too!

1.Exclude Tee

Literally, a T-Shirt with a twist! A playful addition to your wardrobe and perfect to wear while mucking about in the weekend. Simply pair with denim or your skinny Venetian Pants or Integral Pants or shorts for now while the sun is (mostly) about and add a Merino cardigan or a short coat or jacket for when the weather really turns.

2.Punchy Colours

Soft silk tops you can wear now simply with a Cami underneath to give your working wardrobe a boost of new colour. Beautiful bold Mineral Blue, Ablaze Reds, and Pawpaw Oranges to take the strong colour trend into winter. Pair with easy Merino long sleeves and textured knitted scarves for when the winter chill rolls around.

3.Sumptuous Silks

Silk really is a fabric which can be worn all year round. Depending on the style that is… they will be cool to wear in summer, worn simply over slips or tanks, and warm to wear with fitted merinos and long sleeves underneath in winter. We yet again have outdone ourselves with so many beautiful silk dresses and tunics. Here is just a taste!

4.Lightweight Layering

For those who are feeling the cold now and would like to add a bit of intrigue to an outfit, here are some great pieces which will do just that, without being too “winter” just yet. Play around with different textures, opacities, and volume to really add variety to your look.

This season the winter collection is designed based on a feeling of being wrapped and enclosed.

The range encapsulates the silhouette with beautiful textures that interplay with translucent volumes. These contrast opaque forms and question proportion. Origami like overlapping, tucked and folded textures wrap and drape the silhouette, contrasting against sharp cut edges and angles creating a unique and personalised look.

Colours are bold and strong and also interplay giving warmth. Papaya Oranges and Blaze like reds burn beautifully together, while jade like tones create highlights against Navy and electric blues. These colours can be colour blocked together or strategically placed against our beautiful Neutrals and Charcoal Grey bases.

The forever in fashion Black becomes incredibly textured with beautiful napped Italian wools,Wide Pinstripes and oversized checks contrasting lustrous silk velvets and smooth surfaced polyamides. Textures interplay and create intrigue layered amongst each other giving depth to the outfits.

The season’s must have:

The new length long line skirt
A long sheer or split tunic.
The Jersey Dress
Chunky yet soft and lightweight knitwear
A Cape or Coat to be enclosed in.

What else can we tell you about Tracey’s shoes that you don’t already know? Never afraid to do something a little bit different with materials and textures, and perfect to compliment your new taylor pieces. We have recut this style and we couldn’t seem to make them fast enough. It is the perfect dress jacket you can wear over your beautiful summer dresses to complete the look or add that injection of colour to jeans and a teeshirt. Don’t just reserve this great piece for special occasions, have it close on hand as an alternative to a cardigan to throw on…
