The Blue Breeze Inn

posted 2013 Jun by Yasmine Ganley

We were so excited to experience Auckland’s answer to modern Chinese cuisine, The Blue Breeze Inn last week. It’s the newest venture of restaurateur, Mark Wallbank, and chef Che Barrington, the duo behind the highly successful restaurant MooChowChow.

The space, which takes place inside Ponsonby Central, plays with an interior decor that is reminiscent of Southern Asian mixed with 50's Pacifica charm. And if that is not enough to whet your appetite, the food most certainly will.

Our suggestions? The pork dumplings, ‘bang bang’ spicy chicken and ‘Cha Siu Bao’ – traditional steamed buns filled with crispy pork and pickled cucumber... If we could, we would eat these on a daily basis. Unbelievably good food. Hats off to The Blue Breeze Inn. Make sure you book a table there pronto! You are in for a real treat. Enjoy!

Fix up, look sharp - Clean lines and timeless styles

posted 2013 Jun by Charlene Ho

Not all the pieces in your wardrobe need to have that obvious "wow" factor that you may grow tired of. You can find simplicity in clean lines, classic colour combinations, and the subtlety of a garment that has been cut well. It's pieces like these that will always stand the test of time and stay in your wardrobe of favourites.

Clockwise from right:

Composite Vest

Interrupt Tunic

Placement Pants

Quantum Jacket and Placement Pants

Quantum Jacket

Interval Dress

Composite Vest
A classic tailored vest from the front, but with edgy open back detail from behind. Wear over top of structured styles as well as loose oversized styles to give it a tailored edge. An easy way to finish off your look especially if you're going by the "Three Piece Rule."

Interrupt Tunic
The bold monochromatic styling and clean and minimal cut gives this shirt that edge that you will wear for many years to come. Timeless and elegant. Easy to wear around the office, and with sections made up from Merino you won't have to compromise warmth for style... win, win!

Classic suiting...
The contrast of Black and Ivory in this tailored Quantum Jacket is just so timeless. Wear with relaxed fitted Placement Pants as a full suit, or mix and match with separates. Don't just think work though... a glitzy top worn underneath the jacket paired with skinny pants could be a great evening outfit, or paired with some slim fitting Cogent Pants could be a trendy look for your special occasions too.

Interval Dress
The way a garment falls on your body is a subtlety that will make you feel and look good in a garment. It is the luxurious detail that becomes obvious in a well designed garment. The Interval Dress is proof of this. Although quite a special dress, you will always find an excuse to wear it once you have tried it on. We promise!

Elegantly Traced

posted 2013 May by Vicki Taylor

This beautiful Traced Tunic was the starting point for our whole winter collection's concept... "Follow the line"

The simple, timeless line of a shaped dress is paired with eye-catching intersecting lines that are elegantly traced onto our silk tunics with an appliqué colour-matched tape.

Easily worn as a dress with a contrast or matching taylor slip underneath, as shown in Black below, or layer this piece up over a skinny Integral Pant and matching Silk Mesh Camber Tunic. If you require a sleeve finish off with a stunning Blazer or Destination Jacket, or go and make it casual with a Merino Boundary Cardi

Essential Winter Knits - The Boundary Cardi

posted 2013 May by Vicki Taylor

There is nothing better than wrapping yourself in a fabulous piece of Merino Wool knitwear once the temperature drops...

The Boundary Cardi is the perfect piece for this.

This cardigan has been my most useful piece during the last few weeks... I have grabbed it to wear over my Loft Dress and boots for work meetings - dressy enough to be a soft coat, or easily thrown over my Cogent Pants and Wool Felt Overlay Squiggle top when I'm in the workroom at the cutting tables. I've also worn it over my Traced Tunic when we popped out to dinner. It's a great piece to wear over my jeans and tee shirt in the weekends, and snuggling into the couch come evening.

Whether you wear it open, loosely buttoned or knotted at the neckline...There is nothing better than the Merino Boundary cardigan.

New to store - Evidence Tunic Dress

posted 2013 May by Charlene Ho

In desperate need of a piece you can take anywhere and everywhere?

Our Evidence Tunic Dress is already proving to be just this piece. We love the luxe Italian fabrics used, so soft and comfortable to wear.

Great to wear layered up now for winter, or if you are lucky enough to be traveling it will be the perfect accompaniment if the weather turns unpredictable!

Wear as a Tunic, worn with the grey panel to the front with a high neck, or with the Black panel facing forward with a dramatic, draped cowl-neck at the front. Tie up and wear with a belt, or wear relaxed with skinny pants such as our Cogent Pants (as pictured).

Also wear as a light-weight, cropped cardigan, to layer with sheer, silky pieces to add coverage as well as warmth to your look.

It will be your new favourite addition to your wardrobe, we're sure of it!
