MEET KELSEY - WELLINGTON MANAGER

Say hello to Kelsey, our fabulous new Wellington Store Manager! Make sure you come in and say hi to this friendly face! Read on to discover Kelsey's interests, signature style, and favourite taylor pieces for the season.

 

Who are you and how did you come to work for taylor?

I'm an Australian who fell for a Kiwi I met while travelling around the US last year. I recently relocated to Wellington after we got engaged. I've studied fashion design in Melbourne at RMIT (coincidentally the same University where Vicki studied); and I also spent time studying fashion in Amsterdam. Since graduating I've worked as a retail stylist for several Australian designers and boutiques. I stumbled across the Wellington boutique while exploring the Old Bank Arcade (one of my favourite buildings in the city) and decided I just had to work for taylor.. it was meant to be!

  

What is the best thing about working for taylor?

Sharing my passion for beautiful made-to-last clothing with like minded women. While I've only been with taylor a few weeks now, I've already had wonderful conversations with my clients and colleagues about buying quality, ethically produced clothing.

 

How would you describe your signature style?

Classic with a bit of an edge. I love playing with textures and deconstructed pieces - I'm a construction geek actually! I love wearing pieces that take a little while to figure out.

 

What are your 4 favourite pieces from our latest collection?

It's so hard to choose just 4.. I adore the Longevity Boat Dress for its versatility - I'm all about the multi-wear! The Covet Coat in Atom Wool; the fabric is simply stunning and is the perfect neutral texture. The Radiate Wrap Skirt; it drapes so beautifully and those asymmetrical layers are so flattering. And lastly, the Undone Tunic... Mesh turtle neck perfection! It will add texture and interest to any outfit.

Where do you look to for inspiration?

Everywhere! Travel inspires me, experiencing new cities and seeing how others dress is the best source of inspiration. I love people-watching and seeing how others make their clothes work for them. As a fashion student I was always drawn to street style blogs like Tommy Ton and Men In This Town.

 

Where would we find you when you are not styling amazing outfits in store?

Painting and drawing with my husband-to-be.. or possibly out for brunch.. we do that a lot!
