Aleph x taylor NZ Fashion Week

Peer backstage at the taylor Shadowplay NZ Fashion Week show with Aleph Beauty.

For this year's New Zealand Fashion Week, taylor partnered with natural beauty brand Aleph to bring a refined vision of radiant, expressive beauty to the show. "I have such an incredible admiration for Emma - not just her artistic eye, but what she has built the brand to represent: a New Zealand-founded, female-led brand that champions all skin types and ages." - Vicki.

Seven Zones. Fourteen Faces of Light.

In a show built around shadow, movement, structure and light, Aleph created seven distinct makeup looks, each crafted to reflect the mood and design across seven installations. While each look had it's own personality, a shared thread ran throughout: a luminous, natural base that allowed the skin to catch light and shadow, echoing the collection's inspiration.

Take a closer look at how to achieve our model's base skin and the final seven looks of the night.

"After connecting with the incredible team at Aleph, we focused on a skin-first approach to the taylor look. I wanted to create a fresh, natural base that feels achievable for our clients every day, while layering in details to elevate for the show."

Led by founder Emma Peters and lead makeup artist Yelena Bebich, the team began with the Smoothing Skin Tint to prep the skin for a radiant glow, layering with the Aleph Concealer/Foundation. INSIDER TIP: Mix your cream foundation with Radiance Balm in Moon for extra glow.

The Aleph team played with two tints to contour the face, bringing dimension and tying the makeup look to Vicki's shadowy inspiration. Emma and Yelena chose the shades Grounded and Terra in the multi-use Cheek & Lip Tint.

Finish off the look with a slight smoky eye, inspired by Zone 6, using Aleph's Hybrid Eye Pigment in Meteorite, and a few swipes of the Lift / Lengthen Mascara.
