Day to Night - More Ways to Wear Your Wardrobe

Getting more from your wardrobe starts with wearing the pieces you love more often. We believe beautiful clothes deserve to be part of everyday life, rather than saved for a special occasion. When you invest in a piece, it should open up possibilities—a new way to layer, a different proportion to explore, or a fresh perspective on something you already own.

Most of us don't get to go home and change. A day can run from a morning meeting to a gallery opening to dinner, and the clothes have to keep up. So we asked Leanne, hairdresser and ex-TVNZ stylist, to show us how she does it: four looks, worn from morning through to evening, with only a layer or a shoe to change the mood. It's less about having more clothes and more about knowing what a single piece can do.

01 / Softness, then structure

Pale blue silk moves like water: fine, light and gently draped, with an asymmetric hem that follows you through the day. Take the Edifice Dress, worn with relaxed black denim, like the Uncover Jean; it feels easy and a little unexpected. When evening comes, a longline tailored layer changes everything. The sharp shoulder and uneven hem of the Degree Coat give the softness something to push against, and a sculptural clutch finishes it. Same silk, but now it's the quiet part of a very deliberate look.

02 / Crisp, then sleek

Start with a white shirt, the oldest trick there is, but cut long with generous cuffs and a drape that falls where you don't expect it. The Staple Shirt, over a wide, utilitarian pant like the Antsa Short Pants with a hem that nods to tailoring, is relaxed with a bit of edge. For the evening, pair it back with another classic. A long, clean trouser lengthens the line, finish with the Strand Neck Piece to add movement and interest with every step. Same shirt, completely different attitude.

03 / Tonal, then luminous

A silk Banded Oblique has been a forever taylor staple for layering. As a sheer layer, it creates the perfect floating illusion. Contrast the silk with sculptural volume through the leg of the Detour Pant, and add a cropped dark jacket like the Recitfy Bomber to anchor it all. It's calm and considered, and the texture does the talking. After dark, the jacket gives way to a scatter of matte silver sequins, over a classic slip dress. The palette hasn't changed, but now it catches the light. Light, a little theatrical, and surprisingly wearable.

04 / Comfort, then drama

A textured sweater, a relaxed cut, and trousers, like the Reversed Chute Pants, that feel like the weekend. It's the sort of outfit you could wear all day without thinking, which is exactly the point. Then comes the change: the Fixture Skirt in contrasting black and ivory, layered and asymmetric, that swings when you walk. With a heel, the same top looks entirely different. It's the clearest example of how one swap can say "evening."
