Introducing Leanne. She’s become a part of the taylor family through her daughter Georgia, who is part of our workroom team.
ABOUT LEANNE:
Leanne has lived many lives, working as a hair and makeup artist on many TV and movie sets across New Zealand, she then went on to lead the hair, makeup and styling department at TVNZ - working with some of our favourite presenters across the years. It’s here that Leanne first worked with taylor, pulling pieces for the ever-changing TVNZ wardrobe. From TVNZ to Bauer, freelancing as a stylist for Fashion Quarterly and Next Magazine pulling together the best of New Zealand Fashion. Leanne now has her own small hairdressing salon on Auckland’s North Shore, Vauxhall Rose.
To celebrate the launch of our new Pre-Collection, Leanne popped into our Ponsonby store, The Shelter to dress up and style her favourite pieces from the collection.

“My weekends usually consist of jeans and a jumper - but I sometimes find it hard to balance looking dressy and being comfortable. While the Uncover Jeans might not be a new piece, they certainly are in my wardrobe. I’ve popped the Exposed Commission Jacket over the top to give the look a little bit of structure. You can never have too many blazers in my eyes. This one will go with everything!”

“I’m envisioning my best Mother of the Bride look here! I’d hate to purchase a piece just for one day, and these are both pieces I’ll wear to work or for everyday with a few styling tweaks. My favourite is the Sequence Jacket. When buttoned up it flatters the waist so well! P.S These Puro Sandals are ridiculously soft. I stand all day at work in the salon, and I think these would pass the test!”

“Surprise! The Commission Jacket is back (Didn’t I say you can never have too many blazers). This just shows how well you can mix and match the new textured fabric with your classic blacks. Admittedly, I didn’t think the Cadence Dress was for me, but the girls really are right. Once you take a taylor piece off the hanger it completely changes dimension.”

“I’ve now been properly kitted out in the classics - a Glaze Dress and Overtune Pant! How beautiful is the gradient on this dress? I also love that this would work so well with the Index Shirt if you need to change the look for the office. Being in the salon, I often don’t wear my ’nice’ pieces to work - but with the glaze dress and a mesh underneath I plan to just pop my pop layer off when working with colour, and then pop it back on. My clients might start calling me high maintenance haha!”
