Inspired by the relationship of misaligned objects and how they interact with other forms, our taylor Autumn Winter 19 collection 'Kilter’ is designed to transition you through the seasons and into the cooler winter months.
With inspiration taken from artists such as Jan Van Munster and Anthony McCall, the collection plays strongly with shape and texture. Graphic architectural lines are slightly offset and cut into flowing silk fabrications while discreet darting creates unexpected lineation. Covetable Italian fabrics form the base of the collection, with a heavy focus on silk, viscose crepe and wool. In signature taylor fashion, sheer and opaque fabrications play against each other while soft garments with artful drapes are styled with tailored pieces over the top.
The continuing international trend of luxury sportswear is reflected in statement puffer jackets elevated with a flatteringly feminine waist and hints of sportswear throughout the collection. The traditional coat is re-imagined this season with a contemporary drop-shoulder, creating a soft silhouette. Finely textured soft Italian wool develops into a luxurious heavy weighted fabrication as we delve deeper into winter.
While taylor is synonymous with black and white, this seasons colour palette features a striking oxide yellow and nuances of deep sediment green. Blue is also a strong feature this season and moving through the collection it varies in intensity, evolving from a light icy nordic blue to vibrant drift, finishing off in dark ink as the weather cools down. Balancing both cool and warm skin tones, blue is the most universally flattering colour and teamed with a monochrome palette it creates an easy formula for a put-together taylor look.
