Styling: Vicki's Wardrobe Tips

This season is an exploration of balance - finding that sweet spot where architectural design meets everyday wearability. Creative Director Vicki Taylor breaks down how to style and layer new season pieces, and reimagine garments you may already love, breathing new life into your wardrobe.
This season, we see a significant shift toward greys and browns as our anchor neutral; "it’s softer and more forgiving than black, with a beautiful way of muddling together to create a sophisticated depth in your wardrobe", says Taylor.

We start this philosophy of using grey as our anchor with the new Ansta Pant. Whether in wool or cotton, his silhouette with “long shorts” has an incredible attitude when paired with a boot. However, the secret to making a baggier or barrel-shaped pant work is all in the triangle proportions.
"I’m always telling my clients: we want to see a waist or a fitted top to create an elongated rectangle or hourglass silhouette. The one thing we must avoid at all costs is the "square" shape. By defining the waist, you keep the silhouette elegant and intentional."
This layering philosophy extends to our mesh pieces, often referred to as the taylor second skin. Never underestimate the importance of a mesh layer; it adds warmth without bulk and provides a sleeve for confidence, all while creating that essential "peeping" detail at the neckline and cuffs that brings a look to life. You see this when we layer the Squared Assembly Top, Vicki's pick for work and everyday. And again, when we layer the Print Drift Top, the perfect collector's piece for events and dinners out.
In Look One: Antsa Pants, Mesh Contend Tunic, Long Extension Tank, Squared Assembly Top & Print Drift Top.

The power of the perfect pant is your wardrobe's secret weapon. Think of your favourite classic pant, here we use the taylor Overtune Pant, and imagine the possibilities it can bring.
Even a pair like the elegant Italian wool Overtune Pants can undergo a 'Trainer Transformation'. Swapping heels for a flat white trainer instantly shifts the vibe from boardroom to brunch, proving that high-end textures can work for a Saturday morning. For a weekend look, style with your favourite knitwear and a denim jacket, to give them that casual edge.
Vicki notes: "Your 'good' pieces shouldn't just sit in the wardrobe waiting for an invitation. Take the Silk Journey Dress (outfit three), for example. For an event, wear it over a slip or a pair of trousers and a cami, but remember to match the colour of your under-layers to the sheer top-layer. This avoids those hard horizontal lines that can cut your height. Similarly, we are seeing a return to the hourglass through the use of short jackets, like our Calculation Jacket. When contrasted over a longer-line dress, it is the perfect way to highlight the waist and play with lengths."
In Look Two: Overtune Pants, Slot Tunic & Specify Shirt, Journey Dress, Print Relief Tunic, Continue Cardi, Transit Tunic and Calculation Jacket in Denim (coming soon).

Texture and tone also take centre stage with the combination of Charcoal and Chocolate. Brown is having a major moment, and our Difference Skirt is the perfect anchor for this palette. To keep these richer tones flattering, we use vertical lines—like the linear ruffle on the Preface Shirt or specific button lines—to draw the eye upward toward the face. It’s a subtle trick that makes the wearer feel taller and more composed.
This ties into my "Half-Tuck" philosophy. The trick to achieving the look of a small waist is "the 3/5 vs. 2/5 proportion rule. By tucking your sweater about 10cm to one side of your belly button, you allow the fabric to fall at an angle. This clever drape avoids harsh horizontal lines across the hips and creates a fluid, flattering shape. Pair this with a piece like the Camber Tee, whose curved hemline is significantly more flattering than a square cut, and you have an outfit that feels fresh and modern"
In Look Three: Difference Skirt, Fitted Translucent Tunic, Preface Shirt & Lucent Sweater.
